Congratulations to Michael Reynolds (Chairperson), Liz Spratt (Secretary), Linda Fitton (Treasurer), Mairead Rowley, Bethan O’Riordan and Jacqueline Dennehy (vice officers) all elected to the P.A. at the recent Parent’s Association A.G.M.

A big thank you too to Elaine Daly (out-going Chairperson) and all of the outgoing officers for their dedication and hard work over the past year.

PARENTS​ ASSOCIATION

Rathpeacon National School Parents Association is made up of parents who want to help out by either lending a hand on special days, organizing events for the children or fundraising. This Association is affiliated to the National Parents Council and down through the years has been a tremendous support to the school.

During the school year we host receptions for the pupils, parents and families of both the First Holy Communion and Confirmation classes. We have a coffee morning to welcome the new junior infant parents on the morning their children start school. We also run the school books saving stamps scheme (January-May) and organise the school book rental programme (for pupils of 2nd-6th Class) which assist parents in budgeting and reducing school book costs.

For most people, the best thing about being a member of the Parents Association is the chance to meet other parents, to share experiences and to know that they, like their children, are part of the school family. New members are not only welcome, but essential if the Association is to continue to thrive. Even by giving just one hour of your time to help at an event during the school year can make a big difference.
