Our Sixth Class basketball league final was played at 2 o’clock today.  The weather was looking ominous but we were lucky enough to fit in the match – and what a match it turned out to be!

League matches have taken place at lunch time since mid-March and it gradually narrowed down to our finalists – the Atlanta Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks.

The match flowed one way, then another.  It was neck and neck the entire time with the teams level on at least 3 occasions.  At full time the match was all square: 4-4.  Extra time had to be played to separate the two teams…

Mr Duggan’s team – Orlando Magic – started to pull away during extra time managing to score 4 points and winning the match.  Only one challenge remains between them and a place in the history books….next week they face an unbeaten team of teachers and staff.  Will this be the year that Sixth Class win? (Or not!)
