The Lord Mayor of Cork, Dr John Sheehan, visited our school today.  This special occasion marked a huge change for Cork City as it’s boundaries expanded.  It is also a big change for Rathpeacon NS as we are now part of the city.  We are one of 28 ‘new’ schools within the city boundary.

Dr. Sheehan is the third Lord Mayor to ever visit the school.  Two previous Lord Mayor’s visits took place in 1985 and 1995.  The school gleamed and the children beamed…it was a great day for Rathpeacon – our school, our pupils and our staff.
