Rathpeacon had an action packed day in Páirc Uí Rinn today. Both our girl’s and boy’s football teams made it into the Sciath na Scol Finals – an amazing achievement in itself! Supporters were treated to two really exciting matches! Our eyes were glued to the pitch as both teams played some magnificent football. It was a sporting rollercoaster with plenty of highs and lows!
After a difficult start, the girl’s kept their supporters on tenterhooks until the last few minutes of the match. In the end, our girl’s came away with a fabulous victory – two in a row for the Rathpeacon girl’s!
The boys played an outstanding match too – their attitude and fighting spirit, particularly in the second half, were a credit to them. Unfortunately their game ended on a bittersweet note as despite valiant efforts from each and every player on the field Castlemartyr won the match.
