There was a great air of excitement and anticipation around Rathpeacon this morning as we counted down the minutes to our Sciath na Scol final. The team left at 11.45 for Páirc Uí Chaoimh with their coaches – Ms Watson, Ms Twomey, Ms O’Mahony and Ms Ryan. There were some nerves on the bus and in the dressing room but these all disappeared after the warm up!
Once the match started, the girls really took off. They ran, blocked, solo-ed and generally played their hearts out! The team from Knockavilla were great finalists too but our girls really gave it everything and were worthy winners in the end. Every single member of the panel played an important part on the day today and in all of the matches leading up to today’s final. Hard luck to the girls from Knockavilla who left disappointed but CONGRATULATIONS to Rathpeacon!!!
Of course we drew a big crowd of supporters! Pupils from Third to Sixth, past-pupils, parents, grandparents, past parents, teachers and past teachers all turned up to give great support to our girls!
