On Tuesday evening, a group of 30 children from fifth and sixth classes went to the City Hall to meet Michael Morpurgo.  This was a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested to meet a great children’s author.  Every child in Rathpeacon NS reads a number of his books as ‘class novels’ during their time at school.  This year, the children in Fifth and Sixth are reading the novel ‘War Horse.’

Mr Morpurgo kept us all entertained with great stories about his life, how he became an author and the inspiration for some of his novels.  He read and extract from one of his newest novels too and performed a song at the end!  It was a really great evening and everyone there really enjoyed it!
