Sports Day 2016

We had a fantastic day today up at Rathpeacon pitch.  The sports day begin with a warm up walk when we made our way from school up to the pitch.  The entire school was divided into four teams – red, green, blue and white.

We reached the pitch and the days main activities started at 10am.  There was a huge variety of activities including: three legged races, sack races, egg and spoon races, capture the flag tag chasing, parachute games, javelins throwing, soccer and some GAA skills!  (To name just a few!).

We were flat out all day with just two breaks!  We were lucky the weather held off for most of the day.  Heavy rain at 1.30 may have  meant the end of sports day but it didn’t dampen our spirits!

You know it’s been a great day when the Junior Infants break into song on the walk back to school!  Here’s a sneaky peak at the sing-song that happened on the boreens around Rathpeacon – enjoy!
