We had a fantastic surprise this afternoon when Roy Keane dropped in to say ‘Hello!’ No one was expecting our mid term break to start in such an exciting way but thanks to some letters sent by Chloe and Seán in Mr Sheehan’s class last year, Roy decided to pop in!
Children from First to Sixth went to the school hall to meet him and he spoke about his playing career – from primary school right up to retirement. Roy answered questions from the floor and even spoke about Ireland’s World Cup chances…. He is hoping we will win!
Wow! What a moment for our school! It was a great occasion. A huge THANK YOU to Roy for taking time out of his day to call in….it meant a lot to all of us (pupils and staff) in Rathpeacon!
